Get to Know Hillary L. Joseph, PT, MPT, COMT, Co-owner

3 Things You Didn’t Know About Hillary L. Joseph, PT/Co-owner at Blue Sky Physical Therapy:

  1. Hillary grew up in Manitowish Waters, WI on a chain of 10 lakes and was part of a water ski show throughout high school and college.
  2.  She fell off her bike and broke her shoulder 11 years ago, which has now become her favorite body part to treat.
  3. Hillary has been a practicing physical therapist since 2005.

“After breaking my shoulder in 2006, I had a really difficult time regaining strength and mobility, all while practicing as a physical therapist. I had to work hard to build up my strength for the better part of a year to become pain-free. For that reason, I feel like I truly understand the shoulder and its complexities, and can empathize with patients. I like to use a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise. The hands-on therapy works to help restore proper joint mobility and range of motion in the shoulder, while the exercises will help strengthen the muscles including the rotator cuff and shoulder blade muscles. The shoulder is so interesting because there are so many muscular attachments and joints. It is very complex and requires close monitoring to ensure that all exercises are being done properly with the correct muscles being used.”
